Vienna trip a success for psychology students

Clarendon Sixth Form College students visit Vienna to expand their knowledge of psychology and culture.
23 psychology students recently visited the Austrian capital for a four day trip, during which they visited the Sigmund Freud Museum, which documents the life of the ‘father of psychology’.
The students also visited the Narrenturm, a former psychiatric hospital and Josephinum, a medical museum, to gain a better understanding of medicine and psychopathology, the scientific study of mental illnesses.
The trip forms a vital part of students’ studies, solidifying their knowledge of subjects taught in the classroom.
Shannon Bradley, psychology teacher at Clarendon Sixth Form College, said: “This trip provided our students with an invaluable opportunity to explore the historical and cultural foundations of psychology. Visiting key sites such as the Sigmund Freud Museum and the Narrenturm allowed them to deepen their understanding of psychological theories and mental health treatment throughout history. It was an enriching experience that brought their studies to life.”
