Creative Print Making Techniques is a 12-week Art and Design evening course delivered on Tuesday evenings, 6pm-8pm, at Clarendon. The course is practical and hands-on, introducing learners to a range of traditional and contemporary printmaking processes.
Learners will experiment with image-making, mark-making, layering, texture, composition and colour while developing confidence using specialist printmaking tools, materials and processes. Throughout the course, learners will explore:
● Monoprinting
● Photomontage prints
● Screen printing
● Intaglio printing, including etching
● Lino cuts and relief printing
By the end of the course, learners will have produced a small collection of original print-based work and gained practical skills that can be applied to art, design, craft or enterprise projects.
No previous experience is required. This course is suitable for beginners as well as learners with some creative experience who want to broaden their skills and develop a distinctive visual style.
Learners will take part in tutor demonstrations, practical workshops, individual guidance and group discussion. They will be encouraged to explore personal ideas, experiment with different print processes and develop finished outcomes in a supportive creative environment.
The course can also support learners interested in developing a creative business or freelance practice. Printmaking techniques can be used to create sellable outcomes such as limited-edition prints, greetings cards, posters, zines,
textiles, packaging, promotional materials and bespoke artwork. Learners will be encouraged to consider presentation, editioning, audience and how printmaking can add value to their creative practice.
No formal entry requirements.
